We've used up all of Earth's resources for the year

As of now (Sept. 27) we've used up all of the resources the Earth can produce for the year 2011, according to the Global Footprint Network – a think tank working on advancing sustainability. According to their calculations we'd need 1.3 to 1.5 planets to sustain our consumption of Earths resources. The date, which is labelled Earth Overshoot Day, moves days earlier each year. Their report helps visualize exactly how much we're overextending on our demand for resources.
