World's smallest vertebrates

Two new species of frogs have been found in New Guinea, one of them is now the smallest known vertebrate - smaller than a centimetre. This finding also suggests that minute frogs, like these, are not just bizarre oddities of evolution, but belong to a previously unrecognized ecological guild and have a large role to play in their ecosystem.
