What Effect Will the Radiation Have on the Japanese?

I came across this interesting article that explains what kind of effects the increase in radioactivity around the Fukushima NPP has to the people and how dangerous the levels are. According to current reports that are liable to change at any moment, the highest levels of radioactivity are reported to be 0.4 Sieverts, which is dangerous to be in for longer periods, but is not lethal.

  3. I feel bad for the people of Japan. The only real way for people to avoid that crisis is to relocate. The government will probably have to quarantine that area for decades just like in Chernobyl, and you know that's going to cause severe hardship for a lot of people.

  11. That information is legit according to JAIF website. You would normally receive 2 mili Sieverts in one year. Now they are receiving from 0,2 to 0,8 Sieverts per hour!

When your body absorbed a total of 2 Sieverts or more, I really wish you a very, very good luck.
